Overview

PrimeSource Building Products is seeking a Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for Starborn Industries. This individual will serve as the senior finance leader for Starborn, partnering closely with business leadership and the PrimeSource corporate finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, operational support, and a successful integration into PrimeSource.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, and business analysis while identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.

This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic financial oversight with hands-on execution in a growing manufacturing and distribution business.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance activities for the Starborn business.
• \n
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• \n
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, and executive reporting packages.
• \n
• Partner with business leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• \n
• Support the successful integration of Starborn into PrimeSource's financial systems, policies, controls, and reporting processes.
• \n
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• \n
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital initiatives.
• \n
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and cost analysis.
• \n
• Partner with operations, supply chain, sales, and executive leadership to provide financial insights that improve profitability and operational performance.
• \n
• Coordinate annual audits, tax support, and relationships with external auditors and financial partners.
• \n
• Develop financial models and business cases supporting strategic initiatives and capital investments.
• \n
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.
• \n
• Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• \n
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

\n

• \n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• \n
• CPA strongly preferred.
• \n
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• \n
• Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Finance Director experience preferred.
• \n
• Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or consumer products experience strongly preferred.
• \n
• Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations is highly desirable.
• \n
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• \n
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
• \n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• \n
• Proven ability to communicate financial information to operational leaders and executive management.
