    POSITION TITLE: Senior Advertising Review Specialist

    DEPARTMENT: Compliance

    • POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of business experience required; experience in the financial services or legal industry preferred.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience reviewing advertising, sales literature, marketing materials, or mutual fund/advisory products required.
    • Working knowledge of mutual funds and investment advisory services and products required.
    • Familiarity with non-U.S. marketing requirements and working with Compliance staff required.
    • Familiarity with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
    • Must possess Series 7 and Series 24 FINRA registrations or be willing to obtain them within a reasonable period following hire.

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    • Review advertising, sales literature, and related marketing materials for compliance with departmental standards and applicable rules and regulations, including product write-ups, sales ideas, presentations, web and internet content, form letters, advertisements, press releases, and other marketing communications.
    • Review Annual and Semi-Annual Reports to determine the need for additional disclosure statements and draft disclosures, as appropriate.
    • Coordinate FINRA filings for advertising and sales literature; communicate review issues and comments to Compliance and Legal personnel; interact with FINRA examiners and supervisors to resolve issues as necessary.
    • Provide guidance to Marketing and other business areas in the development and revision of advertising and sales literature, execution of FINRA comment follow-up, and interpretation of regulatory requirements and initiatives.
    • Serve as a liaison with Compliance and Legal staff regarding the interpretation of new or revised laws, rules, and regulations.
    • Lead and coordinate large projects, including new website reviews and website redesigns, and represent the Advertising/Sales Literature group in cross-functional meetings to resolve issues.
    • Conduct research related to the application of advertising and sales literature rules and regulations.
    • Assist with the training of Advertising Review Specialists and the preparation, maintenance, and filing of sales literature handbooks, materials, and records.
    • Assist with special projects and other departmental initiatives, as requested.

    HOURS/LOCATION:

    • 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (overtime as required)
    • Federated Hermes Tower - Pittsburgh, PA 15222
    • Hybrid work arrangement

    • Demonstrated technical expertise and professional competence regarding regulatory rules, issues, and interpretations affecting the preparation, review, and approval of complex advertising, sales literature, and marketing materials.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
