Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AEM Backend Developer to join a high-performing digital engineering team responsible for building and enhancing enterprise content management solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Adobe Experience Manager, Java development, and modern backend technologies. This role requires collaboration with architects, frontend developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-quality digital experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Build reusable AEM components, templates, services, and custom workflows.
• Develop integrations with internal and external applications using RESTful APIs.
• Configure and optimize AEM Dispatcher for performance, caching, and security.
• Support content publishing, repository management, and deployment activities.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable digital solutions.

Required Technical Skills

Adobe Experience Manager

• Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development.
• Experience building custom components, editable templates, dialogs, and services.
• Knowledge of AEM authoring, publishing, workflows, and content lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting AEM platform upgrades and ongoing maintenance.

Backend Development

• Strong programming experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
• Experience with Spring Framework and ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
• Solid understanding of Apache Sling and OSGi-based application development.
• Working knowledge of JCR repositories, preferably Apache Jackrabbit Oak.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful web services.
• Familiarity with HTL (HTML Template Language/Sightly).

Build & Deployment

• Experience using Git for source code management.
• Proficiency with Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to Adobe Experience Cloud environments and deployment best practices.

Frontend Awareness

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support frontend integration and component development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating AEM with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Campaign, or other Adobe Experience Cloud products.
• Knowledge of enterprise search technologies such as Apache Solr or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with AEM personalization, targeting, and digital marketing capabilities.
