Overview:

Being on medication is tough enough. We want to make getting it the easy part. Getting prescriptions to patients has become increasingly complex. When things get messy along the prescription journey, pharmaceutical manufacturers rely on us to untangle the process and create a clear path—allowing patients to build trusting relationships with their medication brands.

We’re not only committed to taking the pain out of the prescription process, but we’re also devoted to bringing the brightest minds together under one roof. We bring together diverse voices—engineers, pharmacists, customer service veterans, developers, program strategists and more—all with one vision. Each perspective and experience makes ConnectiveRx better than the sum of its parts.

The Senior AI Software Engineer is an engineering role responsible for designing and implementing AI solutions within ConnectiveRx’s technology group. This person will embed in agile teams at ConnectiveRx to complete specific projects across a potentially wide set of AI and full stack development technologies. The role will also be an AI advocate for CRx and help educate other engineers on leveraging AI in development and building AI solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new AI modules for both internal systems and market-facing software products
  • Contribute to patterns and system designs, write code, and participate in code reviews
  • Contribute to the CRx platform by suggesting and implementing AI-based enhancements to existing frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Act as an internal AI advocate, providing training and mentorship to software engineers on AI technologies and methodologies
  • Work closely with senior engineers to understand and work on assigned projects
  • Participate in the full SDLC, including design sessions, project estimation, iterative development, and unit testing
Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, information systems or related field
  • 3-5+ years’ experience working with AI technologies
  • Experience building AI automations or agentic applications that can plan, call tools/APIs, and execute multi-step tasks with human-in-the-loop controls when needed
  • Experience with cloud technologies; particularly AWS services used to operationalize automation and agent workflows (e.g., Bedrock, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, API Gateway) and related observability practices
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as Next.js or React
  • Experience with relational and document databases; familiarity with event streams/queues and data stores commonly used in automation pipelines (vector databases a plus, where applicable)
  • Prior exposure to or interest in healthcare technology and its applications in improving patient care and outcomes.

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Python (and/or similar languages) for building services, workflow automations, and reliable integrations; strong software engineering fundamental.
  • Extensive experience using modern development environments and AI-driven coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Q developer
  • Significant experience designing, implementing, and operating agentic workflows (planning, tool/function calling, memory/state, retries, and human-in-the-loop)
  • Understanding of autonomous AI systems capable of interacting with their environment, making decisions, and performing tasks safely to achieve specific objectives (including guardrails and auditability)
  • Experience integrating agents with enterprise systems and tools (APIs, data sources, ticketing/work management, knowledge bases) and implementing evaluation/monitoring for quality, latency, and cost
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming languages, databases, and multi-tier application development

Skills

  • Workflow automation and orchestration skills (e.g., AWS Step Functions, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS/SNS; designing reliable multi-step processes with state, retry, idempotency, scheduling, and human-in-the-loop approvals)
  • Nice to have: event-driven architecture experience, including designing with events/queues and asynchronous workflows; familiarity with event sourcing patterns and designing for replay/idempotency (e.g., AWS EventBridge, SNS/SQS)
  • Strong systems integration skills (REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, queues, service-to-service auth) and ability to build tool/function interfaces that agents can safely use (e.g., Amazon Bedrock tool use / agents, Bedrock AgentCore patterns; Jira/Confluence integrations and MCP-style tool adapters)
  • Operational excellence for automation: testing strategies, automated evaluation, monitoring/alerting, logging/tracing, and cost/latency management (e.g., Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines; AWS CloudWatch for logs, traces, alarms, and dashboards)
  • Clear communicator and collaborator : can translate business processes into automation requirements and partner with product/ops/security through delivery.

Competencies

  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to design and implement complex technical solutions
  • Strong data skills, including ability to process and manipulate datasets
