WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Sr. AI Governance Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing AI policies, model risk assessment, data usage controls, auditability, and release approvals for AI products to ensure the ethical and responsible use of enterprise AI technologies.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

1. Partner with Enterprise Architecture function and IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance team to develop and implement AI Governance Frameworks: Create comprehensive frameworks that include policies, standards and best practices for AI development and deployment. Publish AI policy framework (data use, privacy, fairness, transparency).

2. Risk Assessment: Conduct model risk assessments, complete DPIAs/PIAs; define approval gates and documentation.

3. Collaboration: Partner with Legal/Security on vendor risk, contracts, and incident response. Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate AI governance principles into project development.

4. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on AI governance best practices and ensure adherence to established policies.

5. Compliance Reviews: Regularly monitor and audit compliance with AI governance policies and procedures, including staying updated on the latest AI regulations and compliance requirements to ensure ongoing adherence and improvement.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

• Minimum 8 years' progressive experience in AI governance, compliance or a related field along with a strong understanding of AI technologies and their implications.

• Familiarity with data science and/or machine learning concepts is a plus.

• Experience with audit tooling, lineage, and policy enforcement in MLOps preferred.

• Automotive or financial services industries preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, law or a related field.

• Certifications in AI ethics or governance a plus.

• MBA a plus.

• Knowledge of privacy laws and sector regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, GDPR/CCPA as applicable).

• Strong understanding of ethical considerations and potential risks associated with AI.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex AI governance issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with cross functional departments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
