Job Summary

The Company is seeking a Financial Reporting Senior Analyst who will perform monthly and quarterly analytical reviews, assist in the preparation of financial statements, verify that all contracts and material transactions have been recorded correctly by performing technical accounting analysis, maintain financial statement data in the reporting system (Workiva/Wdesk), assist in the development of management reporting for operations, prepare certain complex journal entries, and other miscellaneous duties.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly/quarterly analytical review for all material accounts
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements for all entities (quarterly roll-forward and review, initial drafting of face financials and various notes)
  • Prepare certain quarterly and ad hoc journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of GAAP budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Compile monthly operating reports for upper management, investors, and lenders
  • As necessary, provide timely and accurate input for internal management reporting through coordination with others within the accounting organization
  • Ensure timely and complete delivery of any documentation required to support the external and internal audits
  • Oversight of financial reporting systems (BPC, Workiva, Oracle EPM)
  • Provide support for system upgrades and implementations as needed
  • Assist in reviewing contracts and material transactions for any accounting implications
  • Assist with technical accounting analysis as needed
  • Work closely with other groups in the accounting department, other departments, and external auditors as necessary
  • Assist in developing best practices for the accounting department

Essential Functions

  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Application of US GAAP to complex transactions
  • Support internal and external audits

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, CPA Candidate
  • Minimum Experience Required: 2 + years of financial reporting experience, including experience in public accounting
  • Preferred: CPA, MBA or Master's degree in accounting, Big Four experience

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledgeable in US generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and evaluating complex accounting matters
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and complex capital structures a plus
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with creation and tie-out of complete financial statements (with notes)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency in Word and Excel (advanced modeling and AI skills a plus)
  • Versatile and proactive with a solid work ethic and strong leadership potential
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, and Workiva/Wdesk a plus

HSE Roles and Responsibilities

Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Management System. Actively participate in the HSSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.

Working Conditions and Physical Expectations

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Operates in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and filing cabinets.

Physical Expectations:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.
  • The incumbent is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.
