This role leads the technical implementation of complex projects, ensures high-quality code standards, and provides guidance to junior developers.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, code, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions using modern programming languages, frameworks, and development methodologiesTranslate business requirements into technical specifications and system designs; ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and best practicesReview and optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability; enforce coding standards and secure coding practicesDevelop and maintain RESTful APIs, data integration services, and middleware to connect enterprise systems and external platformsDesign and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and queries to ensure data integrity, availability, and optimal performanceServe as a technical lead on projects; provide accurate estimates, manage development timelines, and coordinate with project managers and business stakeholdersOversee unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; ensure smooth deployment through CI/CD pipelines and version control systemsProvide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior and mid-level developers; foster a culture of continuous learning and improvementTroubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain system stability and uptimeResearch emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve application performance, security, and user experiencePartner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with corporate data security standards and regulatory requirementsParticipate in vendor evaluations, technical assessments, and proof-of-concept initiatives to support IT strategy and innovationConduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field5+ years of progressive experience in application development, including enterprise-level projectsStrong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essentialAdvanced proficiency in enterprise application development, programming languages, web services, and database technologiesAbility to evaluate complex technical challenges and deliver efficient, scalable solutionsStrong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlinesCapable of mentoring junior developers and influencing technical direction across projectsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via Forestar applicationsAbility to sit for the majority of an 8‑hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
