Sr Associate, Strategic Finance, Ads Finance

About the Role

As part of the Strategic Finance team, you will help scale the financial reporting, analytics, and planning capabilities and empower decision-makers across our different businesses and functions. You will play a key role in all aspects of financial reporting and make significant contributions to high-profile strategic and operational initiatives. Your work and the insights you create will drive real-time business decisions and help Uber continue to grow, scale, and become more profitable, while also creating more opportunities for the many thousands of couriers, restaurants, and drivers that use our platform daily.

As part of the Ads Commercial Finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting sales forecasting, target setting, and evaluating return on investment and capital allocation. This role focuses on driving sales growth and operational efficiency through data analysis for Uber's Advertising organization. Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, strong analytical rigor, and advanced financial modeling skills.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Financial & Operational Planning: Partner with company leaders to develop financial forecasts and operational goals
• Partner with the business: To apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision-making related to new initiatives, products, and business opportunities
• Sophisticated financial modeling: Break complex business problems down into components, and build models from scratch as well as improve existing models.
• Strategic Thinking & Execution Excellence: Partner with your team to execute projects and operationalize our insights
• Build scalable, macro-enabled financial models that streamline data consolidation
• Evaluate LTV/CAC and Commercial KPIs
• Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets

Basic Qualifications

• BS/BA in Data Science, Statistics, Finance or other relevant subject
• 3+ years of proven experience
• Strong background/experience with SQL, Python and/or statistical software package
• Experience with Excel/Google Sheets

Preferred Qualifications

• Outstanding analytical skills - standard methodologies are second nature, and your models are efficient, scalable, and intuitive
• Prior financial and/or analytical experience including Commercial Finance, FP&A, management consulting
• Excellent communication and people skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people
• Self-starter - you will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
• Ability to prioritize - we are consistently working on multiple projects at any given time, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and has the ability to optimally multitask
• Team first mentality - this is a highly collaborative and encouraging team environment
• Attention to detail and ability to execute in a fast-paced environment

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
