UPMC is hiring a Senior Audiologist to support UPMC Washington ENT located at 460 Washington Rd., Suite 8, Washington, PA 15301. This full-time role works Monday through Friday during daylight hours
Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of test findings and management.
- Takes the lead in training of medical students, residents, university audiology student's, or nurses or programs of continuing education as requested by the Director.
- Assists the Director in disseminating information to other audiology staff, in the formulation and implementation of new policies/procedures, and in training staff in new test methods.
- Demonstrates competence in administering no less than 5 tests beyond the basid audiologic test battery.
- Senior audiologist shall demonstrate competence in administering all tests beyond the basic audiologic assessment battery currently in use in the department. Training staff on new procedures and equipment.
- Equipment maintenance (record keeping, scheduling, calibrations, trouble shooting, malfunctions. Record keeping for JCOAH (staff meeting notes, policies and procedures. Quality assurance data collection and maintaining records.
- CLINICAL - Demonstrates basics of serve exellence towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments.
- Using appropriate test methods, selects appropriate hearing aids for potential or known wearers, evaluates success with use of instrument, and provides counseling in the use of the instrument.
- ADMINISTRATIVE - With regard to audiology and hearing aid clinical services, acts on the Director's behalf, in her absence.
- Orients and trains new audiologists on staff. Oversees training of interns, externs, and 4th year AuD students involved with the department.
- Perform additional hearing-aid related services.
- Takes part in clinical research projects as requested by the Director. Responsible for dta collection, analysis, and written descriptions.
- Administers routine hearing tests.
- Performs other special duties: it is generally expected that an audiologist will develop some special skill and share this skill by accepting special responsibility.
- Conducts/participates in public hearing screenings or other public relation Program's, as requested by the Director.
- Master's degree in Audiology required.
- 3 years of clinical testing experience required
- 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Licensed Clinical Audiologist
- Act 34
