Akkodis is seeking a Sr Backend Engineer with AI for a Contract with a client in New York, NY. The ideal candidate with expertise designing and delivering cloud-native, distributed backend platforms while driving scalable microservices, API architectures, and AI-powered enterprise solutions.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $51/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr Backend Engineer with AI Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-native backend platforms using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.

• Design and develop scalable REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems that support high availability, performance, and resiliency.

• Drive the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions by integrating LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI orchestration workflows, and intelligent backend services.

• Define architecture standards, security controls, messaging frameworks, and cloud-native best practices for enterprise applications.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned technology solutions.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through architecture reviews, engineering governance, technology evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.

• 12-14 years of experience designing and building enterprise-scale backend systems, cloud-native platforms, and distributed architectures.

• Strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and event-driven architectures.

• Hands-on experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel), and building RAG pipelines and AI orchestration solutions for enterprise applications.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $51.00 per hour
