Senior Business Intelligence & AI Engineer

The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence & AI Engineer for our direct client, where you will serve as a key technical leader on their technology team and be the company’s internal Snowflake, Python, and AI data architecture expert. This role blends data engineering, advanced analytics, and AI solution design to empower data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will be working closely with business and technology stakeholders, this position will architect, develop, and optimize data pipelines, machine learning–ready datasets, and AI-powered insights, ensuring the company gains maximum value from its data ecosystem. The role is based in Dallas, TX, and requires presence in the office at least three days per week.

Responsibilities / Core Duties
  • Lead the design, engineering, and optimization of Snowflake-based data platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, and governance.
  • Develop Python-based automation, data processing, and AI workflows to scale analytics and decision support.
  • Integrate AI and machine learning models into business intelligence solutions, leveraging APIs, predictive models, and NLP where relevant.
  • Partner with business and technical leaders to build a modern AI-driven BI strategy that aligns with company objectives.
  • Champion a data-as-a-service mindset — providing reliable, scalable, and secure data assets to all parts of the organization.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation while maintaining a customer-service orientation toward internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a technical thought leader for Snowflake architecture, data engineering, and AI enablement.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Implement and manage data models supporting analytics, forecasting, and AI/ML initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and productionize AI solutions (e.g., predictive analytics, recommendation systems, or process automation).
  • Oversee data governance, security, and compliance, ensuring all analytics and AI operations adhere to privacy and protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Guide and mentor team members on engineering best practices, AI integration, and scalable analytics design.
  • Manage data performance tuning and cost optimization across Snowflake environments.
  • Drive the continuous evolution of the BI and AI architecture roadmap, staying current on emerging technologies such as LLMs, vector databases, and data observability tools.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering scalable Snowflake and Python-based data solutions.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models or automations into analytics workflows.
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (dbt, Airflow, Git, Docker, CI/CD) preferred.
  • Experience in metrics-driven, growth-oriented environments (Private Equity–backed organizations ideal).
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake and SQL, with experience designing scalable data warehouses and analytic environments.
  • Strong Python programming skills (pandas, PySpark, scikit-learn, FastAPI, etc.) for data engineering and AI integration.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, AWS Sagemaker) a plus.
  • Proficient in Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent visualization platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data architecture principles.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
