Technical BA
This role is responsible for translating business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, supporting testing activities, validating integrations, and ensuring successful delivery across iterative releases.
The ideal candidate possesses a blend of business analysis, technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and testing expertise, along with experience in wealth management platforms and financial services applications.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with onshore Business Analysts and Product Owners to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications for offshore Development and QA teams.
Act as the primary point of contact for offshore delivery teams, clarifying requirements, resolving ambiguities, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical implementation.
Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and technical documentation throughout the SDLC.
Work closely with development teams to analyze requirements, identify gaps, and recommend technical solutions.
Develop, execute, and maintain QA test scenarios, test cases, and regression test suites based on business and functional requirements.
Perform functional, integration, and API testing using tools such as Postman to validate system behavior and data flows.
Analyze SQL queries, data mappings, and downstream integrations to support development, testing, and defect resolution.
Support UAT activities by coordinating with business stakeholders, documenting results, and tracking defect resolution.
Perform root cause analysis for production and testing issues and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
Assist with minor configuration changes, spot fixes, data corrections, and production support activities as needed.
Collaborate with Dev, QA, and Product teams during sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release activities.
Ensure requirements, test artifacts, and deliverables are accurately documented and maintained in Jira and Confluence.
Must-Have Skills:
Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst supporting Agile software delivery teams.
Experience acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and offshore Development/QA teams.
Expertise in requirement analysis, user story creation, process flows, and technical documentation.
Hands-on experience in QA testing, test case development, defect management, and validation activities.
Strong SQL skills, including data analysis, data mapping, and troubleshooting.
Experience with API testing and integration validation using Postman or similar tools.
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Experience using Jira and Confluence.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience in Wealth / Investment Management, Brokerage, or Financial Services domains.
Familiarity with platforms such as Envestnet, Pershing (NetX/NetXInvestor), FIS Global Plus, Charles River, eMoney, or MoneyGuidePro.
Exposure to production support and incident management processes.
Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON payloads, and integration patterns.
Experience with BigQuery.
Experience creating process flows using Miro or Draw.io.
Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 43,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 152,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
