The Senior Business Development Specialist reports to the Senior Manager of Business Development in the BD Relationship Management function. The purpose of the position is to enable the MCM BD team to manage a high volume annual deal pipeline with extreme accuracy, efficiency, and minimal post-purchase risk. To achieve this objective, this position is primarily responsible for day to day management of assigned seller relationships, designing and implementing deal diligence processes and procedures for both self and others on the team to use, and creating and maintaining business intelligence tools and analytical processes in PowerBI and SalesForce. The Senior Business Development Specialist is an experienced individual contributor and function leader who accomplishes their assigned tasks and goals with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
Provide direct management of key seller relationships, ensuring alignment between MCM and partner objectives. Independently own the root cause analysis of post-purchase procedure breakdowns of low to medium risk level, as assigned by Sr. Manager Business Development, and work across MCM departments to understand impacts, analyze options, and recommend possible solutions to BD leadership.
Designing, implementing, and maintaining repeatable diligence processes that can be used by all members of the BD function to vet prospective investment opportunities. Integrating those processes into MCM's comprehensive multi-line risk governance structure, including authoring function-level and department-level procedures where necessary.
Aid the BD department's market intelligence objectives, which require accurate forecast development, pricing intelligence, and frequent reconciliation of market data, by designing, testing, and implementing new custom business intelligence tools in PowerBI and SalesForce. Partner with the Market Intelligence function of BD to serve as the data and analysis liaison from the Relationship Management team, ensuring that market and seller feedback required by Market Intelligence is accurately captured in our SalesForce dataset. Train and provide functional guidance to other members of the BD department and outside departments (as necessary) on how to leverage the business intelligence tools for maximum effectiveness.
Conduct regular business for assigned sellers, including independently leading the end-to-end purchase and sale diligence processes for assigned issuers, preparing and analyzing monthly funding approval recommendations to Director of Business Development, overseeing monthly and quarterly compliance processes, including active participation in issuer audits, First Line of Defense (FLD) reviews, and stress testing of internal FLD procedures, conducting market reconciliations and helping ensure that assigned updates and new deals are accurately captured in SalesForce.

Education: Bachelor's Field of Study: Business, Finance or related field
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a B2B relationship management role, with at least some project or process management experience. Or equivalent education and experience in operations management or management consulting.

Starting Compensation
Annual Salary: $93,800.00 - $102,000.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)
