Overview This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): Phoenix, Minnesota, Charlotte, Raleigh and Denver Our Loan Administration team is looking to hire a Senior Business Risk Process Manager supporting the SVB Commercial Division. This position is an individual contributor and will report directly to the Director, Business Risk Process Management within the Loan Administration organization with a dotted line reporting to the Business Risk & Controls Office. This position will be responsible for the development and execution of first line risk programs. Primarily, this position will be a key contributor to the design and implementation of a newly created First Line Monitoring Program with an initial emphasis on Commercial Lending and Loan Closing processes. Successful implementation of this testing program will include collaboration with the Business Risk & Controls office as well as Credit Administration to identify and communicate results to Senior Leadership. This position will be responsible for consulting with, educating and supporting the execution of first line risk programs, promoting an environment of risk awareness and risk ownership across the Bank while adhering to the Company's Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy. This is a prominent role within SVB and will serve as a subject matter expert on commercial banking processes to drive accountability and ownership of risk across the Commercial Division. The ideal candidate will drive awareness, business process and operations perspective, accountability, and culture throughout the company. The right candidate will play an important role in supporting the development and implementation of the First Line Monitoring Program. In addition, leading high-visibility issue remediation initiatives which will require the excellent change management and project management skills. Being able to connect the dots between related teams and workflows will be paramount to achieving success in this role. Responsibilities The Senior Business Risk Process Manager will serve as business and operations management subject matter expert within SVB Commercial and will be responsible for the following areas: Implementing the First Line Monitoring Program with an emphasis on commercial lending credit approval and loan closing processes, including reviewing Associate workpapers. Providing direct support to business leadership on 2nd LOD, 3rd LOD, and external regulators specific exams and audits, including managing associated remediation projects. Supporting SVB Commercial participation in relevant risk governance group meetings, including communication of findings from First Line Monitoring Program. Driving effective change management communication among 1st LOD stakeholders. Anticipating business needs and proactively identifies opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through actionable insights. Providing a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in Commercial Lending, Enterprise Risk, Credit Review, Control Testing supporting Commercial Lending, Business Risk Process Management or similar field or High School or GED with 10 years of experience. Preferred: Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, supervisory guidance, and expectations for large financial institutions (LFIs) Experience developing presentations and presenting to Senior Leadership Understanding of business strategy, critical success factors, risk profile, and potential exposures Experience building out a team of risk professionals Proven track-record for implementing change and thoughtfully persuading stakeholders This job posting is expected to remain active for 5 days from the initial posting date listed above. For Denver, the base pay for this position is relative to your experience, but the range is generally $122,804- $163,739 annually Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
