Sr. Buyer (Contract)

About The Team:

The Senior Buyer works closely with Manufacturing, Supplier Engineering, Design Engineering, Finance, Quality and NPI Engineers in support of Supply Chain functions in a start-up environment. The Senior Buyer will work directly with Manufacturing, Supplier Engineering and Design Engineering - Projects to expedite/establish material, purchase orders, bills of materials and source material.

Contract Opportunity:

This Senior Buyer position is a 6-9 month W-2 contract opportunity, with an hourly pay range of $70-$75/hour.

A Day in The Life Of Our Senior Buyer:

• Manually plan order actions based on engineering level bills of material, project schedules, MRP and demand plans.
• Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
• Source custom components through new and existing suppliers; obtain quotations, place purchase orders, expedite and track receipts.
• Review production build plans for the procurement of production components and supplies.
• Monitor open purchase orders and lead-time; follow up as necessary with suppliers on orders.
• Ensure MRP information or data is accurate and current.
• Maintain metrics and manage supplier delivery, quality and cost issues.
• Escalate to Supplier Engineering material shortages, quality and cost issues.

About You:

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience (or equivalent overall experience) in planning and purchasing custom components in a production environment.
• Experience working with Engineering in a pre-commercial launch environment.
• Knowledge of bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing scheduling.
• Experience with ERP and PLM systems.
• Advanced Excel user with ability to create V-Look Up and Pivot tables.
• Knowledge of inventory control, material receipt, and cycle count programs.
• Highly organized and can communicate effectively for providing status and problem resolution.
• Ability to travel up to 10%
