    Job Description

      

    Summary

    Reviews, analyzes and places orders for indirect purchase requisitions supporting Teledyne Environmental (12 facilities). Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire non-inventory items in a cost effective and timely manner. Processes purchase requisitions and requests for quotes to suppliers. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Source and purchase non-core goods and services such as marketing, facilities, professional services and engineering projects to support daily operations

    • Ensure timely and compliant procurement of goods and services.

    • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance with contracts.

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure favorable terms with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency 

    • Monitor and analyze indirect spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes 

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies in procurement activities

    • Work closely with internal departments to understand procurement needs and provide appropriate solutions

    • Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues as needed

    • Implement best practices, optimize procurement workflows, and track key performance metrics such as purchase order cycle time, supplier quality.

    • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

    • Work closely with the Accounts Payable department daily to resolve invoice issues and discrepancies

    Education and/or Experience                                           

    Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 4-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
