The Sr. Category Sales Analyst supports the Sales Strategy team by analyzing sales, market, and shopper data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that drive category growth. This role works closely with sales and marketing partners to optimize assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelf strategy Responsibilities Analyze syndicated data (e.g., retail scanner, panel, and market data) to evaluate category performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics. Develop insights and recommendations related to assortment optimization, pricing, promotions, and shelf placement. Support customer meetings including line reviews with data analysis, charts, and storytelling that influence retailer decisions. Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track category performance, distribution, and key KPIs. Conduct post-promotion and pricing analysis to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements. Collaborate with sales teams to support retailer meetings with data-driven insights and category growth strategies. Monitor competitor activity, new product launches, and emerging trends within the category. Partner with internal teams (marketing, insights, supply chain) to ensure alignment on category strategies and initiatives. Assist in planogram analysis and space planning using category management tools when applicable. Maintain data accuracy and integrity across reporting systems. Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $80,200 - $134,250. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field 1-3+ years of experience in category management, sales analytics, consumer insights, or related roles (CPG or retail experience preferred) Experience working with syndicated data sources such as IRI/Circana, NielsenIQ, or retailer POS data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus. Strong communication and presentation skills.
