We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Examiner to join our dynamic team in Fairfax, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work independently on complex and unusual policy coverages, manage investigative activities, and collaborate with legal counsel on litigation strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and make decisions on complex policy coverages.
- Manage all aspects of investigative activity on complex claims.
- Direct discovery and litigation strategies with legal counsel.
- Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients and management.
- Establish reserves and authorize payments within scope of authority.
- Settle claims promptly and equitably within authority limits.
- Develop subrogation and third-party recovery potential.
- Participate in claim reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4-8 years of technical claims investigations/settling experience.
- Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License as per jurisdictional requirements.
- Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferences:
- Industry designations such as IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU.
