Major/Essential Functions

  • Perform patient intake including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and detailed neurological symptom history
  • Assist providers during neurological exams (e.g., coordination, reflex, cognitive, and motor assessments)
  • Coordinate care for patients with chronic neurological conditions
  • Schedule diagnostic testing, follow-ups, and specialty referrals
  • Provide patient and caregiver education on treatment plans, medications, and safety precautions
  • Assist patients with mobility or cognitive impairments during visits
  • Manage prior authorizations for neurology-specific medications and procedures
  • Accurately document neurological histories, symptoms, and provider findings in the EHR

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent; graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty. Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty in which the particular work will be performed; a minimum of two years of directly related experience.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
