The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) is a team with a bold mission: to consolidate, simplify, and accelerate Microsoft's presence across the DIB landscape. This expansive network includes over 100,000 organizations specializing in manufacturing, aviation, cybersecurity, and more-all united in their support of all Federal Agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and other mission-based intelligence and civilian organizations.

The DIB OU will directly manage and accelerate strategic and major DIB accounts across MCAPS Americas, while also enabling growth across other OUs and SME&C. We're building new relationships, transforming legacy operations, and helping our customers modernize with confidence.

We are currently looking for Cloud Solution Architect - AI & Security to join our team.

As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will empower customers to achieve their goals through their investments in Microsoft technology. Leveraging your expertise, youll guide technical discussions to help customers unlock the full potential of their Microsoft solutions, including identifying resolutions to issues blocking customer success projects. Responsibilities

• Accelerate security transformation across Microsofts strategic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) customers by designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures, modern identity solutions, and integrated security platforms that strengthen cyber resilience, reduce risk, and support mission outcomes.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Security solutions including Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM), helping customers modernize security operations and advance from reactive defense to proactive threat protection.
• Partner on complex modernization initiatives, classified and high-side environments, cloud migrations, and digital transformation programs by providing security architecture leadership, guiding customers through the integration of identity, access management, application security, and cloud-native protection capabilities.
• Engage stakeholders across engineering, sales, customer success, and delivery organizations to align on security priorities, facilitate executive and technical design workshops, and establish trusted advisor relationships that influence long-term cybersecurity strategy and platform adoption.
• Enable customers to operationalize Zero Trust principles through identity lifecycle management, Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, privileged access controls, governance, compliance, and secure access strategies that protect users, devices, applications, and data.
• Support secure AI adoption by helping customers design governance frameworks, secure copilots and agents, implement human-in-the-loop controls, and apply security, compliance, and data protection best practices to AI-enabled business processes and workflows.
• Drive measurable security outcomes through technical leadership, customer enablement, and architecture guidance that improves threat detection and response, strengthens identity security, enhances regulatory compliance, and maximizes the value of Microsoft Security investments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field OR equivalent experience.

4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:

This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.

Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain

citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law.

To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance

Additional or Preferred Qualificatios

Security Expertise

• Deep understanding of Microsoft security products including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and XDR.
• Ability to guide customers through Zero Trust architecture and compliance frameworks.
• Experience delivering Enterprise Security Assessments (ESA) and Well-Architected reviews (WARA/WASA).

Customer Success & Delivery

• Proven ability to drive customer outcomes across mission-critical workloads.
• Skilled in consultative engagement, problem-solving, and technical delivery.
• Experience working with government or defense customers is highly valued.

Technical Certifications

• One or more of the following certifications are strongly recommended:
• SC-100: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
• SC-200: Security Operations Analyst Associate
• AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• AI-related certifications such as AI-900 or Copilot for Security are also encouraged

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
