As a Senior Controls Engineer you will develop algorithms, perform data analytics, evaluate controls and machine performance in simulation, and provide solutions for design issues. You will also analyze field inquiries and gain deep insight into HMS operation and performance. This position is part of the Hydraulic Mining Shovel Engineering team in Tucson.Responsibilities Develop, organize, and maintain algorithms for HMS technology features, including Operator Assist, Payload, and future semi‑autonomous features.Understand hydraulic and electrical schematics; collaborate with system teams to identify ideal hardware for control inputs.Complete controls and performance simulations for current production and new product introduction (NPI) HMS and provide data‑driven recommendations.Define conditions required to simulate real‑life hydraulic mining shovel operations; adjust simulation complexity as needed.Provide insights on operator behavior using live data from active machines.Coordinate resources, delegate tasks, and manage project timelines to ensure on‑time delivery.Keep up‑to‑date on emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement of existing techniques.Skills & Qualifications Technical Excellence: Strong technical leadership with extensive experience in heavy equipment performance and application, electro‑hydraulic system design and/or testing, and control theory. Previous product development experience required.Engineering Tools: Ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test design concepts using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python.Analytical Thinking: Proficiency with analysis techniques and tools; ability to diagnose performance problems and craft alternative solutions.Problem Solving: Experience applying problem‑solving approaches and tools to diverse situations; track record of delivering innovative technical solutions and securing buy‑in across an organization.Effective Communications: Excellent communication, leadership, project management, and business management skills. Must negotiate, build consensus, and achieve compromise with internal partners, suppliers, customers, and dealers.Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Commitment to precision in all tasks.Education: Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering program.Top Candidates Will Also Have: Experience with Dynasty, Rocks3D, and C‑Link software.Additional Information Domestic relocation is available.
