Sr. Cost Accountant

Trident Consulting is seeking a " Senior Cost Accountant” for one of our clients in " Aliso Viejo, CA (Onsite)” A global leader in business and technology services.

Title: Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Aliso Viejo, CA (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $49/hr on W2 (All Inclusive)
Duration: 12+ Months

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, COGS, journal entries, and account reconciliations during monthly close.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for U.S. and international subsidiaries.
• Prepare inventory and warranty reserves and cost of sales reclassification entries.
• Analyze standard costs, variances, and gross margins.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and ERP adjustments.
• Prepare financial reports and support consolidated financial statements.
• Support audits, tax filings, and year-end reporting.
• Assist with process improvements and special projects.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to junior staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
• Experience with Expandable or similar ERP systems.
• Experience supporting external audits.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
