We believe the kitchen (and the family table) make up the hub of the home, where everyone belongs.We are all working together to:Be first in mind, first in choice for US manufactured cookwarePositively impact the lives of over 1,000,000+ people each year with our innovative and entrepreneurial mindsetCreate an environment where all employees can do their best workYou will love it here if you believe in the following:Everybody mattersDo the right thingWe are in this togetherPassion for our customersService BuiltInvolved Solutions ProviderIf this sounds like the company for you, your seat at our West Bend Company family table awaits.Your seat at the table: Sr. Cost AccountantYou will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to:Standard Costing & Product Cost ManagementMaintain and update the standard cost system, including material, labor, and overhead allocation methodologiesPerform cost roll‑ups, bill of materials (BOM) reviews, and routing analysis to ensure accurate product costingDevelop and maintain costing for new products, product changes, and engineering revisionsReview and update standard costs, labor rates, and overhead rates annually and as operational changes occurInventory Valuation & ControlOversee inventory valuation, reserves, and reconciliation between the general ledger and subledgerSupport cycle counts, physical inventory events, and inventory accuracy initiativesInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in partnership with operations and supply chainMonitor excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory and recommend appropriate reservesVariance & Margin AnalysisAnalyze manufacturing variances including purchase price, labor, overhead, and production variancesInvestigate root causes of unfavorable variances and partner with operations on corrective actionsTrack and report gross margin performance by product line, SKU, and customerIdentify trends and provide actionable insights to improve profitabilityMonth‑End Close & Financial ReportingPrepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to inventory, COGS, and manufacturing costsEnsure timely and accurate close in accordance with the corporate close calendarPrepare cost and inventory schedules to support internal reporting and external audit requirementsMaintain documentation supporting internal controlsBusiness Partnership & Decision SupportCollaborate with operations, supply chain, engineering, and plant leadership on cost‑saving initiativesProvide financial analysis to support make‑vs‑buy, sourcing, and pricing decisionsSupport capital expenditure justification, tracking, and post‑implementation reviewAssist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and the annual standard cost rollContinuous ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements within the cost accounting functionPromote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement across finance and operationsShare cost accounting expertise across the finance team to strengthen overall capabilityThis seat reports to: Divisional ControllerLeadership OverviewOur company believes leaders are critical to the success of each individual. Learn more at Cookware Manufacturing Careers in West Bend, WI | West Bend CompanyRequirements5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant time in a manufacturing or cost accounting environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA a plusStrong working knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting in a manufacturing settingExperience with IFS or a comparable ERP system, with strong understanding of integration between production and accountingAdvanced Excel skills; experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferredSolid understanding of US GAAP and internal control principlesStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause‑analysis skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data for non‑finance partnersExperience in a Lean or Six Sigma environment is a plusThe West Bend Company is an equal opportunity employer.
