FieldBridge Energy seeks a Houston, TX-based Cost Accountant, to work for one of the world's largest oilfield equipment manufacturing companies.

Pay/Schedule: $89,000-95,000/year + Amazing benefits. Mon-Fri 8 AM–5 PM day shift with up to 2 remote flex days (excluding Mondays/Fridays); most work currently remote-capable.

Our client is in an exciting phase of transformation: implementing and expanding a modern costing system (Cost Configurator in JDE) to deliver better visibility into costs, margins, and profitability across our Coating and Corrosion Control plants. We need a driven Senior Cost Accountant to lead this rollout, optimize the tool, drive adoption, and set the foundation for international expansion.

Why Join This Role?

  • Strategic impact — Lead the finalization and rollout of a new costing program that's central to improving financial transparency and decision-making in manufacturing.
  • Hybrid flexibility
  • Growth opportunity — Influence cross-functional teams, build change-management skills, and position for future leadership as we expand internationally (no direct reports initially).
  • Travel with purpose — Domestic to local manufacturing facilities now; international opportunities ahead (expenses fully covered).
  • Rewarding package — Competitive salary, 10% bonus eligibility, business casual environment, and stability in a proven industry leader.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the Cost Configurator module in JDE for Tuboscope facilities (primarily Coating/Corrosion Control).
  • Finalize system setup, adapt configurations for location-specific processes (similar but not identical across sites), and ensure accurate job costing standards, work order processing, variances, and margin visibility.
  • Drive adoption: Partner with Plant leadership, operations, and cross-functional teams to explain benefits, persuade stakeholders, and implement the new costing system effectively.
  • Perform complex cost analysis: Develop and maintain job costing standards, conduct annual/ad-hoc cost rolls, monitor WIP/variances, review overhead/labor rates, and provide profitability insights for products and functions.
  • Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, and month-end reporting (variance analysis, OEE performance, SOX compliance tasks like WIP reconciliations and inventory controls).
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on cost issues, recommend process improvements, and bring more structure to costing and manufacturing finance practices.
  • Handle ad-hoc analysis and reporting for plant/operations management while preparing for future international rollout support.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–3+ years of hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (solid costing knowledge essential; oil & gas not required).
  • Strong Excel skills (required); experience with ERP systems (JDE or similar) and Oracle Hyperion/SmartView is a big plus (trainable for the right candidate).
  • FP&A exposure valuable for broader analysis in a costing context.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills—able to explain complex concepts, drive change, and collaborate internationally.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, analytical mindset with tolerance for tight deadlines and a passion for process improvement.
  • Stable work history.
  • Willing to travel as needed for rollout (domestic now, international in future).
