Job Description:

Senior Data Engineer (Hybrid - Temple, TX)

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Requirement: Must live within ~50 minutes of Temple, TX

What You'll Do

• Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Enhance and support enterprise data warehouse architecture (dimensional models, ETL/ELT)
• Develop Linux shell scripts for automation and batch processing
• Work with mainframe datasets/utilities to extract and integrate data
• Create datasets and models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to deliver data solutions
• Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures

What You Bring

• 5+ years experience in Data Engineering (or similar)
• Strong SQL expertise (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing (ETL, dimensional modeling, OLAP)
• Experience with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh)
• Exposure to mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities)
• Experience with IBM Cognos or similar BI tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
