Job Description:

Sr. Database Administrator

Location: Raleigh, NC, Phoenix, AZ, Morristown, NJ, or Dallas, TX (remote, but may be required to go on-site occassionally)

Role Overview

We are seeking four Senior Database Administrators to support a large-scale Encryption in Transit (EIT) initiative. This project requires coverage across multiple database platforms, including Oracle (2 positions), Microsoft SQL Server (1 position), and PostgreSQL (1 position). Candidates with expertise in multiple database technologies are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, design, and implement Encryption in Transit (TLS/SSL) solutions for assigned database platforms.
  • Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and support teams to plan and coordinate implementation activities.
  • Validate secure connectivity, ports, certificates, and encryption configurations.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues related to encrypted database communications.
  • Develop implementation and validation procedures while ensuring minimal application disruption.
  • Support testing, cutover planning, and production deployment activities.

Required Qualifications

Senior-level DBA experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or DB2 is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience implementing and supporting database encryption in transit. A strong understanding of SSL/TLS, certificates, secure ports, and database connectivity is necessary. The role requires the ability to independently coordinate with application teams, manage implementation schedules, and possess strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise across multiple platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, is preferred.
  • DB2 experience is considered a strong plus.
