Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized recruiting firm, is partnering with a global leader in the power and energy industry to identify a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This individual will be responsible for designing and developing power transformer components, creating engineering documentation, and supporting new product development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions. This is a full-time onsite opportunity.

*MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE DESIGNING HV TRANSFORMERS*
*Must be willing to relocate to S. Boston, Virginia OR Alamo, TN

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems and transformer components for new and existing products.
  • Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and evaluations to ensure designs meet technical and performance requirements.
  • Create manufacturing drawings, engineering documentation, bills of materials, and other supporting design packages.
  • Develop 3D models and perform simulations to validate product performance and resolve design challenges.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, sales, and other engineering teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions to improve product reliability.
  • Provide technical support to customers by addressing engineering questions and assisting with product-related issues.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, technical reports, proposals, and documentation required for project execution and approvals.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable company standards, industry regulations, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 5-8 years of electrical design experience, preferably within the power transformer or electrical equipment industry.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply them to product design and development.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D CAD software such as Creo or similar design platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard engineering documentation practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage projects independently and collaborate across multiple departments.
