JOB SUMMARYThe Sr. DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise DevOps practices across multiple product teams. This role focuses on automation, scalability, and reliability of software delivery processes, with a strong emphasis on Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments. The DevOps Engineer partners closely with Software Engineering, Product, Customer Support, and QA teams to improve release quality, deployment speed, and system reliability. This position is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.
TIME ALLOCATION- CI/CD pipeline design, release automation, build, packaging, deployment, and DevOps tooling administration (GitHub, artifact repositories, related platforms) – 45%
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, deployment support, and operational issue resolution – 20%
- DevOps leadership, standards development, mentoring, and educating development teams on DevOps best practices – 15%
- Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, QA, Product, and other stakeholders – 15%
- Continuous improvement, documentation, tool evaluation, security governance, and future-state cloud/container initiatives – 5%
EXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)- Design, implement, optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple applications and platforms
- Build and support automated build, packaging, deployment, testing, and release processes
- Support source code management, branching strategies, and release workflows
- Implement and support infrastructure-as-code and automation practices across cloud environments
- Manage and maintain binary artifact repositories using tools such as Nexus or Artifactory
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve development velocity, quality, and reliability
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues
- Develop scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting languages
- Maintain documentation for DevOps processes, tools, standards, and operational procedures
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to DevOps tools and technologies
- Enforce the security and privacy of CI/CD and development processes and platforms
- Support and participate in dependency protection governance processes (i.e. vulnerabilities and licensing)
- Evaluate platforms and features for data privacy and ownership compliance (especially AI and external-access features)
- Assist in cloud migration initiatives and optimization of Azure architecture (compute, storage, networking, data services)
- Build and support containerized deployment solutions using Docker and Kubernetes
- Monitor and report on key DevOps metrics including deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and change failure rate
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, Release Engineering, or related technical roles
- Experience supporting cloud-based and on-prem DevOps environments
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE- Strong expertise in cloud architecture and services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, security)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or equivalent
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with managing artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory)
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent)
- Experience utilizing Windows and Linux server environments
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Experience with build/release engineering, including troubleshooting complex deployment issues
- Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Service Desk)
- Experience supporting .NET, C#, or Java-based development environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting multiple applications, platforms, or product teams
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE- Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives

ATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATIONThe position is based in our Richardson, TX office. Daily physical presence in the office is required for interaction with co-workers, attending meetings, and for collaboration on projects.
