This is a deeply technical role requiring an expert understanding of the SaaS and enterprise software market: how vendors price, how contracts are structured, where leverage exists, and how to negotiate in an environment where vendors hold increasing market power. The ideal candidate bridges enterprise procurement discipline with a technology operator''s instinct.

SaaS & Technology Market Expertise

  • Serve as Deltek''s internal SME on the SaaS and enterprise software market pricing models, negotiation leverage points, vendor consolidation trends, and emerging alternatives
  • Develop and maintain a technology category intelligence capability: benchmark pricing, market rates, competitive substitutes, and vendor financial health
  • Evaluate make-vs-buy and build-vs-license decisions in partnership with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams
  • Track SaaS market dynamics (usage-based pricing, AI surcharges, SKU rationalization) and translate intelligence into negotiation strategy

Strategic Sourcing & Contract Negotiation

  • Own the full source-to-contract lifecycle for Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Engineering, Business Applications, Security, and Product technology spend
  • Lead complex, high-value contract negotiations with tier-1 technology vendors including Microsoft, Salesforce, Oracle, AWS, and ServiceNow
  • Develop and execute competitive sourcing events, RFPs, and benchmarking exercises to drive cost efficiency and commercial optionality
  • Quantify the cost and risk impact of tool sprawl; translate rationalization opportunities into clear financial cases for executive decision-making
  • Identify and execute vendor consolidation and rationalization opportunities across overlapping tool categories.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with IT, Engineering, Product, Security, and Business Applications leadership as a trusted advisor
  • Embed into technology planning and budgeting cycles to identify sourcing opportunities upstream of renewal windows
  • Support technology leaders in evaluating new vendor proposals, pilots, and platform expansions through a commercial lens
  • Engage and influence at the executive level presenting technology sourcing strategy, rationalization business cases, and cost optimization opportunities to the CFO, CPTO, and business unit VPs with clarity and credibility

Renewal Management & Risk

  • Own the technology renewal calendar; lead proactive renewal strategy with 612 month lead time on strategic contracts
  • Identify and remediate contract risk: auto-renewals, true-up exposure, overage clauses, and uncapped fee escalators
  • Track software utilization and license compliance in partnership with IT Asset Management

US (Remote)

  • 10+ years of technology procurement or sourcing experience, with a strong emphasis on SaaS, cloud, and enterprise software
  • Deep working knowledge of SaaS commercial models: subscription vs. consumption, per-seat vs. enterprise licensing, ELAs, and usage-based contracts
  • Demonstrated success negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with tier-1 software and cloud vendors
  • Ability to read and interpret software contracts, MSAs, DPAs, and SLAs with a commercial eye
  • Familiarity with IT vendor landscapes: cloud hyperscalers, security tooling, DevOps/engineering platforms, CRM/ERP systems
  • Experience working in or alongside software engineering, product, or IT organizations preferred
  • Experience leading or contributing to enterprise application rationalization, platform harmonization, or post-merger technology consolidation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level comfortable presenting to and aligning CFO, CTO, and VP-level stakeholders on sourcing strategy and investment decisions
  • Bachelor''s degree required; technical degree, MBA, or CSPO/CIPS certification a plus

The U.S. salary range for this position is $134,000.00-$236,250.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
