Position Specific Description

Sr. Director - Asset-Level Financing

NextEra Energy is currently searching for a Sr. Director of Asset-Level Financing within its Treasury organization. The Sr. Director will be a key part of a team that is responsible for the structuring, execution and management of tax equity and project finance transactions for NextEra Energy across various core end markets including, but not limited to, renewables and storage, gas plants, transmission, pipelines, and residential solar. Responsibilities include financial analysis, financial modeling, managing due diligence and negotiating financing documents. The position will work with cross-functional teams throughout the company and third-party investors including commercial banks, institutional investors, and asset managers.

The leader in this job is responsible for strategic management and oversight of financial forecasting and analysis activities. This job provides leadership and direction to a team of management and professional employees.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops short- and long-term financial and economic forecasting and analysis strategy including monthly 5-year strategic forecast, the Monthly Operating Performance Report (MOPR) short term financial forecast, cash flow forecasts, updates to capital expenditure forecast, and forecast updates to credit rating agencies
  • Selects, develops, and maintains a professional staff with strong analytical and problem-solving skills that are able to develop recommendations based on sound knowledge of the functional area and negotiate implementation
  • Maintains and enhances various financial and economic models in accordance with GAAP and regulatory financial statements
  • Consults with business unit leadership on economic and financial impacts of investment decisions
  • Performs financial and commercial review of contracts, valuation analyses for potential acquisitions or divestitures, and other analyses as requested by senior leadership
  • Develops, maintains, and continuously improves processes, systems and technology, measurement practices, and metrics reporting
  • Oversees development of financial related rate case documentation
  • Serves as regulatory witness backup, or oversee the activities of the witness backup for various financial related proceedings
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelors or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 12+ years
  • Leadership Experience: 6+ years
