This position is responsible for managing all design and construction functions related to capital improvements in company owned, leased and JV hotels. This includes oversight of planning, budgeting, scope development, managing internal and external stakeholders, hotel brand coordination, project execution, manage project turnover and close out to deliver quality projects on schedule, and within the approved budget.

This position will have fiduciary responsibility for more than $50M of company funded capex projects annually. This role must be familiar with working with a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).

This position can be located either in our VA Headquarters or in California

What will I be doing?

  • Responsible for long term capital planning, analysis of Return-on-Investment (ROI) Projects, schedule analysis to mitigate business interruption, competitive bidding and contract management, cost forecasting and timely and accurate project reporting

  • Responsible for managing multiple project teams comprised of architects, contractors, and other specialty vendors per project in the execution of large and complex urban renovation and expansion projects

  • Tracks project scope, status, disputes, and resolutions and keeps all internal stakeholders up-to-date.

  • Prepare and review RFPs and contract documents

  • Reviews, researches, and evaluates proposed change orders in construction materials, methods, or design configurations.

  • Interface with hotel operations, work cross functionally with all Park Hotel and Resorts internal departments as needed and other external stakeholders as necessary

What qualifications do I need?

  • Ten years' experience in large scale urban hospitality design and construction

  • In-depth knowledge of means and methods related to hotel design and construction

  • Four-year college degree or significant work experience in lieu thereof

  • In-depth knowledge of project scheduling tools

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills are required

  • Extensive travel is required (+50%)

What skills and competencies would be advantageous?

  • Fifteen years experience in large scale urban hospitality design and construction

  • Experience working with a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)

  • Working knowledge of building codes and restriction
