What You'll Do:

As the Senior Director of Human Resources, you will serve as the senior HR leader for a portfolio of manufacturing facilities, providing guidance, leadership, and support to both operations and HR teams. You will be responsible for creating a proactive HR culture focused on workforce stability, employee relations, risk mitigation, and leadership development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible and engaged presence across the region through regular site visits and leadership interaction.

Workforce Stability & Retention:

  • Develop and execute workforce strategies that improve retention and reduce turnover.
  • Identify workforce trends and staffing risks before they impact operations.
  • Drive accountability for recruiting effectiveness, workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention outcomes.
  • Partner with leadership teams to create a positive employee experience and high-performing workplace culture.

HR Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop site-level HR professionals across the region.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and escalation protocols.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and continuous improvement within the HR organization.
  • Build HR capability that supports both employees and operational leaders.

Employee Relations & Risk Management:

  • Serve as the senior resource for complex employee relations matters.
  • Promote a proactive approach to identifying and addressing workforce concerns.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues that could impact employee engagement, compliance, safety, or production.
  • Support investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action processes, and policy interpretation.

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Collaborate closely with operational leadership on organizational design, succession planning, talent development, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee management, performance, and engagement.
  • Help build strong leadership teams capable of supporting future business growth.

What You’ll Have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environments.
  • Proven experience leading HR across multiple facilities, business units, or geographic regions.
  • Strong employee relations and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Experience supporting high-volume workforce environments.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region (50% travel).

  • Experience leading organizational change and workforce transformation initiatives.
  • Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are a highly credible HR leader who understands the realities of manufacturing operations and knows how to balance employee advocacy with business performance. You are comfortable working on the plant floor, coaching leaders, managing sensitive employee issues, and driving strategic initiatives across multiple locations.

You bring:

  • Strong business acumen and operational understanding
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving workforce challenges
  • Confidence in making decisions in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
  • The ability to coach leaders and develop HR talent
  • A passion for creating stable, engaged, and high-performing workforces

What Success Looks Like:

In this role, you will:

  • Build strong partnerships and credibility with plant and regional leadership teams.
  • Ensure employee relations concerns and operational risks are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Drive consistency, accountability, and excellence across all HR processes and practices.
  • Strengthen the capability of site-level HR teams and operational leaders.

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to influence both people and business outcomes across a dynamic manufacturing organization. You'll collaborate with operational leaders, shape workforce strategy, develop HR talent, and help create a culture where employees and the business can thrive.
