Job Description:

Sr. Electrical Design Engineer I

Ideal Start Date: Aug 10, 2026 or ASAP

Contract Length: 10 months, potential for extension

Business Hours: 40 hour/week, core business hours (9a-5p), no OT/Holiday

Travel: Potential for work travel for teams annual event

Location: 100% onsite at Atlanta, Georgia office

Compensation: $29 - $37 HOURLY

Role Overview

This role provides technical services in support of a Power Resiliency program. The work will be concentrated on the planning, design, commissioning, and operational support of electrical infrastructure, backup power systems, and energy resiliency solutions across a large distribution network. The position will focus on client business units, operations (mostly hands-on), and minor reporting.

Top Must Have Skills: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Electrical Engineering Degree (required)
  • Communications experience to large group/teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Record of accomplishing tasks in a short timeframe

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of site-specific plans (playbooks) for backup generation implementation, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and utilities.
  • Obtain site-specific information, including engineering drawings, line diagrams, and specifications, while maintaining points of contact for all involved parties.
  • Support the ramp-up of business units for the planning, deployment, and operation of backup power generation.
  • Develop and steward software systems to manage data, track initiatives, and report on assets and problems.
  • Assist in the execution of power resiliency plans during major events.
  • Coordinate efforts to deploy and operate backup generation for unplanned power needs.
  • Provide administrative support for ongoing process development, including documentation and reporting.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and utilize internal tools for information gathering and problem reporting.
  • Analyze data to support the development of white papers and other leadership-focused deliverables.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and utility providers to obtain required information and permissions for site visits and equipment access.
