Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Halfmoon, NY (12065)

Type: Direct Hire / Permanent

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering team developing innovative power electronics and LED lighting solutions. This is a highly visible role where you"ll drive product development from concept through production, working on electrical circuits, PCB designs, validation testing, and continuous product improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical circuits and PCB layouts for LED drivers, control systems, and power electronics products.
  • Develop schematics and PCB designs using Altium Designer (or similar ECAD tools).
  • Create and build R&D prototypes and proof-of-concept designs.
  • Develop, execute, and document hardware validation and verification plans.
  • Support UL certification activities for new product development.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and field failure analysis to improve product reliability.
  • Design and implement production test fixtures for PCBA validation and manufacturing support.
  • Manage projects from concept through production, maintaining timelines and communicating risks proactively.
  • Own BOM accuracy and validate components against design requirements.
  • Evaluate incoming parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Qualify alternate components and manage approval processes.
  • Support SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing teams during first-production builds.
  • Establish electrical test methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal sales and customer support teams when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong experience designing switching power supplies, LED drivers, or similar power electronics products.

  • Hands-on experience with PCB design and development.

  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or comparable tools such as Cadence Allegro or Eagle.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills at the circuit level.

  • Experience using laboratory equipment including:

  • Oscilloscopes

  • Bench power supplies

  • Digital multimeters (DMMs)

  • Ability to independently execute testing, troubleshooting, and hardware validation activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting UL certifications (UL 1598, UL 8750, or similar).
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI testing standards, including IEC 61000 methodologies.
  • Embedded firmware experience using C, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with industrial LED lighting products.
  • Experience working with three-phase power systems.
