Position Title: Senior Electrical EngineerPosition Type: Full-time (onsite)Position Location: Sanford, FLClearance: N/A (US citizenship required)Position SummaryThe Senior Electrical Engineer is a mission‑critical contributor to the design and development of high‑power and control electronics for our high‑performance tethered drone systems. In this role you will work across the full PCB design lifecycle, from schematic capture through layout, test, and sustainment, delivering robust electronics capable of performing in the demanding environments our customers operate. The ideal person brings deep hands‑on PCB design experience, strong analytical instincts, and the practical problem‑solving skills to identify root causes and implement reliable solutions.You will contribute to current and future Hoverfly electronics, collaborating closely with mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to advance both product quality and team capability in a fast‑paced, mission driven environment.Development and DesignDesign, develop, and maintain high‑power and control electronics for aerial systems from initial concept through productionContribute to all phases of PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and testingEmploy advanced PCB layout techniquesUtilize ECAD tools including Altium, Mentor Graphics PADS, Xpedition, Ansys, and HyperLynx for design and development tasksConduct electronics packaging with 3D modeling/CAD experienceAnalysis and MitigationConduct electronics failure analysis and implement mitigation strategies to ensure product reliabilityApply RF Systems/MIL‑STD‑461 knowledge and associated noise mitigation techniquesDevelop and maintain documentation covering design, manufacturing, and test processesCollaboration and IntegrationCollaborate with mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to support integration and production of electronic subassembliesCoordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely and quality manufacturing of electronic assembliesContribute to product roadmap discussions, including new features and product enhancementsSupport design process activities including trade studies, design reviews, and requirements developmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or comparable)5–7 years of electronics and/or PCB design experienceDemonstrated experience integrating Computer on Module (CoM) and/or System on Module (SoM)Proficiency with Altium, Mentor Graphics PADS, Xpedition, Ansys, or HyperLynx (or equivalent)RF Systems/MIL‑STD‑461 and associated noise mitigation experienceExperience debugging complex electronics using test equipment, analysis tools, and design dataAbility to thrive in a high‑tempo environment and adapt to shifting prioritiesStrong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skillsTeam‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality resultsMust be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62), which includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, to meet export control compliance requirementsWillingness to travel as needed for demos, customer meetings, and relevant industry events (less than 10% annually)Preferred ExperienceExperience with drones, UAS, RC, or autonomous systemsAdvanced PCB layout techniques for high‑speed or high‑power applicationsElectronics packaging experience with 3D modeling/CAD toolsExperience working with contract manufacturers on electronic subassembly production#J-18808-Ljbffr
