Voted on as a best place to work and recognized in the ENR Top 100 and fastest growing companies.Job DescriptionIn this role, you will support and lead a variety of interconnection and power system studies for renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects, while partnering closely with internal engineering teams and clients to deliver technically sound, high-quality solutions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical work, client interaction, and contributing to the integration of inverter-based resources onto the grid. What You'll Be DoingLead and support interconnection and power system studies for utility-scale renewable and high-voltage power projectsPerform and review studies in PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF, ASPEN, PowerWorld, ETAP, SKM, CYME, EMTP, or similar toolsConduct a range of analyses including: Load flow, Short circuit, Dynamic analysis, Transient studies, Renewable model tuning, Fault analysis, Voltage and frequency ride-through evaluations, Grid disturbance and system performance assessmentsDevelop, review, and refine power system and renewable plant models for interconnection applicationsSupport model validation, benchmarking, quality checks, and parameter tuning to align with utility, ISO/RTO, and regional performance requirementsEvaluate and support projects across solar, wind, BESS, substations, transmission, and distributionPrepare and review technical deliverables including study reports, design criteria, specifications, study documentation, scopes of work, and other engineering packagesParticipate in client meetings, technical discussions, occasional site visits, and field walkdownsSupport proposal efforts, technical approach development, and estimating for new project opportunitiesEnsure studies and engineering deliverables align with applicable codes, standards, utility requirements, and internal quality expectationsStay current with regulatory changes, grid codes, ISO/RTO requirements, and evolving standards related to interconnections and inverter-based resourcesContribute to the improvement of internal workflows, tools, and methods that help streamline studies, model checks, and engineering efficiencyMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited programStrong experience supporting interconnection studies and power systems analysisExperience with tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF, ASPEN, PowerWorld, ETAP, SKM, CYME, EMTP, or similarExperience performing dynamic studies, model development, or renewable system analysis for high-voltage or utility-scale projectsStrong understanding of power system behavior, inverter-based resources, and grid interconnection requirementsFamiliarity with ISO/RTO processes such as ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, CAISO, or similar is a plusUnderstanding of applicable standards such as NERC PRC/MOD, IEEE 2800, IEEE 1547, and other relevant interconnection requirementsPE license is a plus, but not required for the right candidateWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from $125000 to $185000 USD annually.
