The Portland Water Bureau (PWB) Engineering Construction Inspection section is recruiting for a full-time Senior Electrical Inspector. Senior Electrical Inspectors take primary responsibility for interpreting the electrical codes and standards and conducting inspections and the review plans for compliance with electrical codes. This position provides specialized lead direction to Inspectors and Trainees as formally assigned, including scheduling, coordinating, assigning, reviewing and overseeing the completion of a variety of work, and training and advising assigned staff on the solutions of technical problems. Additionally, Senior Electrical Inspectors inspect electrical installations for use of proper materials and compliance with electrical code requirements, and issue certificates of inspection and approval or correction notices. Computer record checks, researching applicable codes, checking electrical licenses and permits are also important components of this work. Senior Electrical Inspectors advise on electrical construction methods, code requirements, and permit procedures. Senior Electrical Inspectors ensure a positive customer experience and ensure that services are delivered in an equitable manner. A second language is preferred but not required. This position will also work with the Portland Water Bureau Operations group with supporting Electrical and operations
The current vacancy is in the Portland Water Bureau in the Engineering Construction Inspection group.
About the Water Bureau:
Sr Electrical Inspector will provide Inspection Support to PWB Operations, will conduct Inspections on PUMP STATIONS MCC, Will work with PWB Design Teams reviewing Electrical wiring diagrams, check to make sure the design meets Electrical code and standards. Must be able to do ARC Flash studies to verify the equipment is safe.

a. Two (2) years of experience as an Oregon Supervising Electrician; or
b. A degree in Electrical Engineering and three (3) years experience in design, inspection or supervision of installations covered by the National Electrical Code or Oregon Electrical Specialty Code;
c. Equivalent experience and training approved by the Board.
