Introduction

The Sr. Electronics Lab Technician will be responsible for performing functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures. The role involves supporting the development and validation testing of high voltage automotive power electronic components, fabricating special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses. This position will be based in Torrance, CA and will require on-site work, reporting to the Lab Operation Supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in fabricating special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses
  • Ability to design and fabricate simple mechanical fixtures and jigs
  • Experience with functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation of electronic assembly issues
  • Comfortable working on high voltage (<1kV), high current units
  • Experience with printed circuit board assembly modifications such as component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets
  • Prior work experience in the client's industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters
  • Familiarity with instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters
  • Proficiency in using Google Workspace such as Sheets, Slides, etc., to capture test data and create reports

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses
  • Design and fabricate simple mechanical fixtures and jigs
  • Conduct functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures
  • Support the development and validation testing of high-voltage automotive power electronic components
  • Troubleshoot, root cause, and document electronic assembly issues
  • Procure necessary tools, equipment, and components for prototype builds
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe practices
