    Job Description

    Shape the Future of Telecom Infrastructure: We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design, development, analysis, testing, and commercialization of telecommunications components, mounting systems, and new products. This role combines structural/mechanical engineering, product development, FEA, manufacturing, and customer-focused engineering to deliver innovative, reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

    Scope of Responsibility: The Senior Engineer will lead the design, analysis, testing, validation, and manufacturability of products including antenna mounts, equipment brackets, pole mounts, sector frames, platforms, rooftop and wall mounts, structural assemblies, small cell products, and custom telecommunications hardware.

    The role will translate customer and market requirements into practical product solutions while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Sales, Operations, vendors, and field teams.

    Position Requirements:

    Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Structural, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
    • PE license or active pursuit of PE licensure preferred.
    • Eligible and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as required.

    Essential Duties:

    • Lead new product development and documentation from concept through design, prototyping, testing, validation, packaging and production release.
    • Design telecommunications components, mounts, brackets, frames, platforms, and structural assemblies.
    • Perform structural/mechanical analysis for wind, ice, seismic, equipment, dead, live, and other applicable loads.
    • Evaluate load paths, capacity, deflection, stability, materials, and bolted/welded connections.
    • Perform and lead FEA and other analysis methods for design optimization and failure investigations.
    • Develop CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, calculations, specifications, and test plans.
    • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
    • Work with other departments to implement new software enhancements and technology driving efficiencies throughout the entire product development process from concept to production.
    • Partner with Manufacturing to optimize welding, forming, machining, cutting, coating, assembly, tooling, and fixtures.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, material usage, part count, production time, and assembly complexity.
    • Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and design reviews.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality, manufacturing, customer, and field issues.
    • Support quotations, customized products, customer inquiries, and technical sales activities.
    • Manage design and documentation for packaging requirements working with drafting, inventory and shipping departments, other internal groups, and vendors
    • Develop engineering standards, procedures, design guides, and product documentation.
    • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to other engineers.
    • Stay current with telecom technologies, engineering standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
    • Travel to customer and vendor locations as needed.

    Position Requirements:

    Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Structural, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
    • PE license or active pursuit of PE licensure preferred.
    • Eligible and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as required.

    Experience

    • 5+ years of engineering experience in product development, structural/mechanical engineering, components, or manufacturing.
    • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through production.
    • Experience designing structural components, mounts, brackets, assemblies, or similar products.
    • Experience with structural steel, aluminum, sheet metal, or tubular products.
    • Experience with FEA, prototyping, testing, validation, and failure analysis.
    • Experience with DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes.
    • Telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, small cell, or outdoor equipment experience strongly preferred.
    • Customer-facing or technical support experience is a plus.

    Skills & Abilities

    • Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and project management capabilities.
    • Strong understanding of structural/mechanical engineering, load paths, materials, stability, and product performance.
    • Knowledge of bolted, welded, and mechanical connection design.
    • Proficiency with SolidWorks required. AutoCAD and/or other 3D CAD software is a plus.
    • Experience with FEA and structural/mechanical analysis software.
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, tolerances, and assembly.
    • Ability to balance performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost.
    • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor others.

    Physical Requirements: (Physical requirements are to be listed here. Specify job-appropriate physical requirements in a few bullets)

    • Position works primarily in an office environment; however, occasionally required to travel to customer and vendor locations
    • Ability to use hand tools for light assembly/modification of test and prototype articles for third party or in-house lab work.
    • Position requires working on a computer, phone and with general office equipment
    • Regularly required to use hands to work on the computer, finger, handle, or grasp, reach with hands and arms
    • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
    • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
    • Distant Vision: must be 20/40 corrected or uncorrected bilaterally
    • Approximately 10% travel is required.
