About This RoleA Sr. Engineer I/II in Automation & MES is a key member of the RTP Bio Automation & MES team, supporting both day-to-day manufacturing operations and large-scale capital and improvement projects. This role provides technical leadership for DeltaV and Syncade MES systems, partnering cross-functionally to design, implement, and sustain robust automation solutions that enable safe, compliant, and efficient biopharmaceutical manufacturing.What You'll DoProvide technical leadership and hands‑on support for DeltaV and Syncade MES systems across development, validation, and production environmentsDesign, implement, and maintain software solutions and interfaces with systems such as PI Historian, Oracle, CMMS, Veeva, LIMS, and other enterprise platformsAuthor, review, and approve automation and MES documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and lifecycle documentsExecute and own change controls for validated automation systems in compliance with site and quality requirementsTroubleshoot automation and MES issues to support manufacturing operations, including participation in an on‑call rotationCollaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to define validation strategies and ensure alignment across deliverablesLead or support medium to large automation projects with minimal directionMentor and train junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the automation functionWho You AreYou are a technically strong automation engineer who thrives in a regulated manufacturing environment and enjoys partnering across functions to solve complex problems.Required Skills for a Sr Engineer I: 93,000-121,000 pay rangeBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or universityAt minimum 4 years of experience in automation engineeringHands‑on exposure to DeltaV and/or Syncade recipe authoringStrong experience with validated systems, including documentation and change control executionAbility to troubleshoot complex automation software and hardware issuesRequired Skills for a Sr Engineer II: 107,000-143,000 pay rangeBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or universityAt minimum 6 years of experience in automation engineeringProven proficiency with DeltaV and/or Syncade recipe authoringStrong experience with validated systems, including documentation and change control executionAbility to troubleshoot complex automation software and hardware issuesExperience developing and leading design philosophy and standardization across DeltaV and/or Syncade MES systemsPreferred SkillsBachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or universityExperience in automation engineering supporting manufacturing operations in a large-scale biotech or pharmaceutical environmentExperience working with both DeltaV and Syncade MES platformsFamiliarity with batch reporting, MES design principles, and review‑by‑exception conceptsExperience supporting technology transfer, capital projects, or site‑wide improvementsPrior experience mentoring or training junior engineersJob Level: ProfessionalAdditional InformationThe base compensation range for this role is: $93,000.00-$143,000.00. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
