Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for Sr. Engineering TechnicianSr. Engineering Technician (Overland Park, KS - Onsite)Multiple other locations: Ann Arbor, MI, Cary, NC, Denver, CO, Houston, TX, Phoenix, AZMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESSenior Engineering Technician will be responsible to lead design teams that support the development of high‑quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects.This position performs technical tasks requiring advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site development plans using advanced techniques in industry‑standard design tools, such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler.Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisorApplies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering disciplineContributes to the development of innovative engineering solutionsUses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverablesProvides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standardsEstablishes and communicates appropriate design and graphic standardsReviews project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable contentPromotes quality and consistency across projects, groups, and sectionsReviews design inputs to ensure alignment and consistencyEnsures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standardsMay contribute to continuous improvement of design guides, standards, and processesMay participate and lead process improvement and change management activitiesManages drawing control and maintains historical project recordsApplies engineering principles and established design practices to complex designsExercises sound judgment in interpreting inputs and making deliverable‑related decisionsHandles complex technical assignments and provides guidance to other professionalsPerforms design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentationMay review deliverables produced by others for quality and accuracyMay coordinate presentations, production design, and use of electronic design toolsMay monitor production to ensure consistency, budget, and scheduleMay program control systems or support plant start‑up activities within area of expertiseCoordinates with other design groups to exchange information for design developmentMay support field activities as requiredCommunicates project design requirements, progress, and schedulesResponsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances. Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns. Assist discipline or department management in developing and communicating appropriate design standards and process improvement activitiesIdentifies and supports training and development needs for supervised personnelRecognized for expertise in one or more areas. May be assigned special assignments depending on technical expertise. Assignments may involve solving a particular design problem or participating in a design team focused on completing an assigned project taskMakes presentations and conducts training classes within a specialized area of expertise.Required QualificationsTypically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
