Senior Epic Orders Consultant (EpicCare Inpatient)
Duration: 11-month contract
We are seeking a Senior Epic Orders Consultant with deep expertise in EpicCare Inpatient to support design, build, and optimization efforts within a clinical environment. This role will partner closely with clinical stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership to enhance workflows, support system upgrades, and ensure high-quality delivery across the Epic platform.
The ideal candidate brings strong functional and technical knowledge of Epic, along with hands-on experience supporting clinical documentation workflows and patient care processes.
Provide subject matter expertise in EpicCare Inpatient, including system design, build, testing, and optimization
Collaborate with clinical end users to design and configure workflows, ensuring alignment with operational and patient care needs
Lead small to mid-sized enhancements and upgrade initiatives, including design, build, testing, and deployment
Participate in design sessions and validation reviews, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and issue escalation
Analyze system requirements and workflows to develop effective configuration solutions and recommendations
Create, maintain, and support system documentation, including build specifications and design artifacts
Monitor application performance in production and proactively address issues
Execute unit, system, and integration testing to support EpicCare Inpatient workflows
Provide ongoing support for application incidents, including participation in on-call rotation as needed
Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and deliver timely resolutions for end users
Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manage system updates and enhancements
Partner with training teams to develop and maintain application-specific training materials
Build strong relationships with clinicians, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
5+ years of experience in healthcare IT
Active Epic certification in EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation
5+ years of hands-on Epic experience, including design, build, and support
Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, including clinical documentation, patient flow, and encounter management
Proven ability to analyze workflows, troubleshoot issues, and deliver scalable solutions
Experience leading projects or mentoring team members (formal or informal leadership)
Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience with department build and Community Connect implementations
