Position: Senior Estimator
Industry: Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 (DOE)

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support a growing heavy civil contractor with estimating responsibilities across highway, roadway, data center, site development, and infrastructure projects. The primary focus will be concrete, earthwork, underground utilities, and related civil scopes. This position partners closely with operations and project management to develop competitive bids and support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents.
  • Develop quantity takeoffs for concrete, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, roadway, and related civil work.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Develop detailed labor, equipment, production, and material pricing.
  • Coordinate with project managers, operations, and field leadership during preconstruction.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternate construction methods.
  • Prepare bid packages, proposals, and estimate summaries.
  • Support project handoff following award.
  • Maintain relationships with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Required Knowledge

  • Heavy civil estimating principles and bid preparation.
  • Concrete, grading, earthwork, underground utility, and roadway construction means and methods.
  • Construction scheduling, production rates, equipment costs, and project budgeting.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; estimating software experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction preferred.
  • Experience estimating concrete, site development, earthwork, utilities, highway, roadway, or data center projects.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel periodically to project sites for pre-bid walks and coordination.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and review active construction sites as needed.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is expected to range from $120,000 to $140,000 depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is available and may include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, holidays, and opportunities for long-term career advancement.
