To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the listed items satisfactorilyJob TitlePOSITION SUMMARYPlans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organization. Utilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment. Analyzes specifications and requirements to establish facility plans and estimate design costs. Researches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment. Maintains expert knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activities.Plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Prepares designs for review to include, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, status updates, and performs project and capital equipment management responsibilities. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects.Essential Job FunctionsAssists Facilities leadership with the implementation of companywide projectsCommercial Construction Oversight:Collaborate with construction teams to ensure projects meet specifications, budgets, and timelines.Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and compliance with regulations.Preventive Maintenance Systems:Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment and systems.Monitor and analyze maintenance data to optimize performance and reduce downtime.Equipment Maintenance:Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other facility-related systems.Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.Capital Equipment Management:Manage the budgeting process for capital equipment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Oversee the purchasing process for new equipment, including vendor selection and contract negotiation.Coordinate the installation and implementation of new equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Monitor equipment performance post-installation and make recommendations for improvements or replacements as needed.Project Management:Plan, execute, and manage facility improvement projects from initiation to completion.Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports for stakeholders.Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations.Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.Issue permits as required and conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with all structural and safety standards.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams to address facility-related issues and concerns.Provide technical support and guidance to facility staff and management.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Position QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, with 7-10 years of experience in facilities engineering, commercial construction, or a related role; or equivalent combination of experience and education.Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, capital budgeting, and procurement processes.Ability to issue permits and conduct thorough construction inspections.Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.Intermediate/advanced computer skills, including proficiency in CAD, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to work with minimal supervisionPreferred ExperienceCertification in facilities management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA).Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA and EPA requirements pertaining to a manufacturing or industrial facility.Experience with facility management software and maintenance management systems.Experience in structural engineering.Knowledge/use of project planning softwarePhysical DemandsDemonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
