About the Role:
As a CBRE Sr Facilities Manager, you will manage many functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings.
This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.
What You"ll Do:
- Will manage 4 sites - Elgin, 2 in North Chicago suburbs, and 1 in Milwaukie,WI.
- Will use either a personal vehicle or a rental car to travel (approximately 60% of the time) with travel reimbursement.
- Provide no formal supervision to no employees.
- Will travel up to 10% of the time.
- Will create and manage the budget.
- Coordinate and manage the team"s daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
- Oversee facilities security in the Americas (US, Canada, Central and South America).
- Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
- Prepare and manage large and high-profile capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
- Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
- Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
- Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
- Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
- Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
- Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
What You"ll Need:
- IL driver"s license.
- Property Management background helpful.
- Strong soft skills/communication skills to interface with C-suite clients on-site.
- Prefer someone with people management and creation and oversight of financials and budgets.
- Bachelor"s Degree preferred with 10+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver"s license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
- Prefer budget creation and analysis experience.
- Prefer management of quarterly business review process.
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr Facilities Manager position is $125,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Sr Facilities Manager position is $135,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
