About the Role:

Ready to lead with impact?

Join CBRE as a Senior Facilities Manager, where you'll oversee a portfolio of retail sites for one of our leading technology clients in the Bay Area and California. This hybrid role combines strategic oversight with hands-on engagement-you'll regularly engage the client and visit retail locations weekly to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

In this position, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert in building operations and maintenance activities while delivering hospitality-driven customer service and operational excellence across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) activities, and compliance. In addition, vendor management and governance is critical while fostering strong relationships with store managers, property managers and landlords. Your leadership will ensure seamless service delivery and a positive, productive environment for our client's teams.

This is more than facilities management-it's an opportunity to shape workplace experience and drive performance across a dynamic portfolio.

What You'll Do:

Store Operations & Service Delivery

Serve as the primary facilities partner for Retail stores within the assigned region. Build strong relationships with store leadership and stakeholders through proactive communication, responsiveness, and hospitality-driven customer service. Conduct structured on-site reviews at each location a minimum of twice per month to identify facility-related issues, assess operational performance, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and the overall workplace experience.

Vendor & Contractor Management

Lead and coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and service delivery through third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers. Manage vendor performance through work order management systems, regular business reviews, site inspections, and service metrics to ensure contracted services meet operational expectations. Review and oversee vendor-related expenditures, invoicing, and procurement activities as appropriate.

Project & Program Oversight

Support facility-related capital projects, renovations, store openings, and operational initiatives by partnering with cross-functional teams including Real Estate, Design, Innovation, Standards, Merchandising, Security, IS&T, and Development teams. Provide operational guidance and feedback to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with business objectives, facility standards, and long-term maintainability requirements.

Budget & Financial Management

Manage annual operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, financial reporting, and expense tracking. Evaluate repair-versus-replacement opportunities, develop cost-effective solutions, and participate in vendor sourcing, bidding, contract negotiations, and scope development to ensure strong financial stewardship across the portfolio.

Building Systems & Technical Expertise

Apply advanced facilities and building systems knowledge to oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, lighting, landscaping, and other critical infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve complex operational issues while ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance

Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Support environmental health and safety (EHS) programs, promote safe working environments, and maintain quality assurance processes that drive operational excellence across all locations.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for facilities operations. Foster collaboration among internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders while promoting CBRE's RISE values. Identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery, maintenance programs, and operational standards, driving continuous improvement across the portfolio.

Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility

Support sustainability initiatives related to store operations, including energy efficiency programs, waste reduction efforts, renewable energy initiatives, and environmentally responsible vendor and material selections. Partner with stakeholders to advance client and CBRE sustainability goals.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant certifications such as CFM, FMP, IFMA, BOMA, or PMP are preferred.
  • 7+ years of facilities management, engineering operations, construction, or related experience. An engineering or technical background is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting retail, workplace, or customer-facing facilities environments, preferably for a global consumer technology organization.
  • Deep knowledge of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire-life safety, lighting, landscaping, and related infrastructure systems.
  • Experience developing and executing preventive maintenance programs and managing vendor performance to ensure operational excellence.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operating and capital budgets, forecasting, contract negotiations, and vendor service agreements.
  • Proven ability to evaluate repair-versus-replacement decisions and balance operational risk, service quality, and cost management.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, vendors, store leadership, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive accountability, and align operational goals across multiple teams and functions.
  • Experience in hospitality-focused, workplace experience, or client-facing service environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with facility operations teams, utility providers, government agencies, architects, designers, contractors, and development teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must be willing and able to travel to client sites throughout the assigned portfolio, including regular on-site store visits and occasional overnight travel as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize new technologies, systems, and equipment.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
