Hiring Department Department of DermatologyJob Description Summary/Objective The Finance and Accounting Analyst Sr. is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and fiscal management of the department. This includes creating and managing budgets, tracking expenses, preparing financial reports, calculating incentives, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures, and supporting the financial needs of the department's faculty and staff. The Finance and Accounting Analyst Sr. plays a key role in financial planning, reporting, and analysis to ensure the department's financial stability and growth. The Finance and Accounting Analyst Sr. is a key role in the department and is included in all discussions and meetings that may have financial implications.Essential Functions Uses Workday Planning to build, manage, and monitor the department operating budget, ensuring financial resources are effectively allocated and expenditures remain within approved limitsUses Excel to prepare proformas used in provider recruitment and to estimate charges for special projectsWorks with the department administrator and chair to plan for future financials needs and support long term strategic goalsPrepares financial projections including revenue and expenditure forecastsReviews and prepares monthly financial reports for distribution to providers and collaborators, addressing outliers with department leadership and collaborators as applicableAnalyzes financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies, providing recommendations for corrective actions as necessaryOversees the procurement process including approving all purchases of equipment supplies, and servicesTracks cost of goods used by providers for reporting to UP (University Physicians)Collaborates with department leadership on financial decisions making, providing insights on cost saving measures, funding opportunities, and resource allocationResponds to inquiries from faculty and staff regarding financial matters and resolves problems as they ariseTracks endowment accounts and creates and approves funds distributions and event budgetsCreates invoices for the VA hospital based on contract and hours worked then manages disbursement of the funds once received using PCE'sWorks with the department administrator to create annual incentive plans for providersCalculates provider incentives and collaborator compensationEnters skin care product charges into patient billing system and reconciles monthlyDemonstrates knowledge of and supports the University of Missouri School of Medicine standards, policies and procedures and code of conductProvides outstanding customer serviceMaintains a professional and courteous demeanor with all coworkers to ensure a harmonious work environmentPerforms other duties as requiredAdjusts personal performance to meet team needsAccepts change and corrective counselAccepts additional/reduced/changes hours and assignment as workloads requireAccepts and performs fair share of work/responsibilitiesAccepts and follows supervisor directionMaintains good attendance and punctualityShift Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
