Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Senior Operations Finance Manager will lead financial oversight, consolidation, and strategic project support for six plastic bag manufacturing plants. This role serves as a key finance business partner to plant leadership and operations, driving financial performance through disciplined forecasting, cost control, capital project evaluation, and standardized reporting. The position requires strong consolidation expertise, hands-on operational finance experience, and the ability to manage complex cross-plant initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Consolidation

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation for six manufacturing plants, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Prepare consolidated P&L, gross margin, and operating cost analysis with clear insights into plant-level and enterprise performance.
  • Develop standardized financial reporting, dashboards, and KPIs across all plants.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Operations Finance & Cost Management

  • Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to analyze manufacturing costs, variances, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across raw materials, conversion costs, logistics, and fixed costs.
  • Support pricing, margin analysis, and customer profitability initiatives specific to plastic bag products.
  • Monitor working capital metrics, including inventory turns and slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning

  • Lead the annual budget and rolling forecast processes across all six plants.
  • Evaluate volume, mix, and cost assumptions; identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support long-range planning with scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Provide variance explanations and actionable recommendations to senior management.

Capital & Project Oversight

  • Financial lead for capital investments, automation projects, and process improvement initiatives across plants.
  • Build business cases, ROI analyses, and post-investment reviews for capital and strategic projects.
  • Track project spend, timelines, and financial benefits realization.
  • Ensure cross-plant alignment and financial discipline on major initiatives.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, operations, supply chain, and engineering teams.
  • Drive best practice sharing and financial standardization across plants.
  • Support integration of new plants, lines, or systems as needed.
  • Mentor and develop plant staff or analysts, fostering a strong operations finance culture.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including operations or manufacturing finance.
  • Proven experience consolidating financial results across multiple plants or business units.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, manufacturing variances, and capital project finance.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems and BI tools.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence plant and senior leadership.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA designation.
  • Experience in plastics, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Prior responsibility for multi-site operations or shared services environments.
  • Experience supporting Lean, continuous improvement, or automation initiatives.
