Job Description:

Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Fully REMOTE (Must be located in PST or MST time zones)

Contract Length: 6+ months (Contract through end of year with likely extensions from there)

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 / hourly rate (Based on experience)

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in accounting, with supervisory experience.
  • Auditing Experience
  • Ideal candidate understands audit principles (identifying attributes, exceptions).
  • Knowledge of different levels of support (e.g., third-party invoices vs. internally prepared schedules).
  • Not a heavy financial statement audit role; more focused on operational/expense audits.
  • This contractor will review the work performed by the jr level accountant therefore they must be Skilled with reviewing accounting work papers. The contractor will also be responsible for reporting t on the results of audit findings, and providing recommendations on how they should proceed; exclude certain item from the billing etc.

Description:

Perform accounting, reporting and financial analysis as assigned for the enterprise. This role is responsible for complex and multifunctional areas of accounting, maintaining proper accounting and financial control through reconcilations and analytical analysis related to assigned functional areas. Actively participate and ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), tax and other regulatory reporting. Conduct independent accounting-based research and complex analytical projects. Supports internal and external audits of Health Plan of Washington and its subsidiaries. Develop and maintain working relationships with operational departments and external vendors. May supervise accounting staff. Supports the budget process. If assigned to work on federal contracts, this role may be required to undergo and pass a security background clearance per federal government regulations

Additional Job Details:

Participates in and implements monthly financial close, prepare and supervises the assignments of the staff accountants to include general ledger, construction-in-process (CIP), fixed assets and leases. Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly management financial reporting package, regulatory reporting and/or executive summary schedules.
