CITITRENDS is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support both our VP of FP&A and the VP of Store Operations with budgeting, forecasting and analysis of store sales, store payroll, store expenses and store profit. The position will also be responsible for modeling Pro-Forma P&L estimates and return on investment (ROI) for new store site selection and new store openings and will model ROI for other store capital requests as needed. The position will also support the broader FP&A team in various ad-hoc business analysis while proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities.

Reporting to the VP of FP&A, our ideal candidate should have at least 3+ years of financial planning and analysis experience. This should include but not be limited to experience managing and tracking expenses; supporting the budgeting and forecasting process of sales and expenses; and proactively identifying financial risks & opportunities. A particular plus would be experience working in the retail industry and/or supporting a retail store group with analysis related to workforce management and store operations.

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and maintain store expense budget and forecast and provide analysis of expense trends, tracking and monitoring store profit and performance
  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting and analysis of Sales for our company. Maintain daily sales forecast.
  • Assist in the budgeting, forecasting and analysis of stores Department Expenses (Headcount, Travel, Professional Fees, Technology, etc.)
  • Assist in preparation of financial materials for our monthly presentations and capital expenditure requests
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis of expense trends to facilitate discussions on actions
  • Support the month-end close process
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial statements and systems
  • Demonstrate absolute adherence to data integrity and internal controls
  • Assist in new system implementations and cut-over, as needed
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience budgeting, forecasting and analyzing sales and/or expenses (experience with store payroll and expense a plus)
  • Experience utilizing Technology tools to drive efficiencies and make improvements
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others in the organization
  • Experience with advanced analytics, data science, and machine learning techniques is a plus
  • Experience supporting new system implementations is a plus
  • Experience in a retail environment is a plus
  • Must possess attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 3+ plus years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
  • CFA/CPA/MBA preferred but not required
